Mailwasher Pro God I love this programme. It allows you to view what’s on your email server before downloading the messages! You can delete messages directly from your server, black list them, or bounce them back from whence they came. Invaluable to keep your computer clutter and virus free. Mozilla Thunderbird and Firefox: Firefox and Thunderbird are easy to use programmes that replace Internet Explorer and Microsoft Outlook express respectively. Both are free!

Open Office: A very viable alternative to Microsoft Office Suite, Openoffice is a fully featured, open source Office Suite which includes a database, spreadsheet, word processor and is entirely free.

Desk Pins: Desk Pins allows you to lock windows to the top so they won’t fall behind when you open another window.  Very useful when you are using a messenger programme.

DVD/CD copying etc: Here is a free version of Ashampoo Burning studio. Excellent for writing and copying cds and dvd’s.

Adware Removal: Lavasofts Adaware is well regarded. Here is a free version of adaware.

Antivirus software: I use Avast’s free version of its antivirus software.

Firewall: Try PC Tools Firewall Plus It’s an effective, free firewall programme.
