Camera Review sites
DP Review Comprehensive digital camera review site. Generally I find reading the conclusion sufficient to get an idea of how good the camera is.
DC Views Informative digital camera review site
The Luminous-Landscape Contains articles on digital cameras, (their usage in the field, rather than in depth reviews), also general pieces on all things photographic.
Rob Galbraith’s website for up to date news and views on the photographic industry, aimed at the serious amateur / professional.
Photographic Programmes
Irfanview: A free, very small, quick loading picture viewer, with useful features such as: resizing (including changing the dpi), batch processing and basic image editing features.
jalbum: is a free programme designed to create photo albums for your website. I use it for all the albums on this site. Quick and easy!
Autostitch: A free photo stitching programme that does everything automatically – results are so good that you can seldom tell where the images have been joined …. it even balances out the density of each image!
Autopano: is a commercial stitching programme that uses the engine from autostitch above – the results are much the same, but it’s easier, however it costs money to buy the license.
Picasa Is a free programme from Google. It’s a photo cataloguing programme which is as good as they get, well for the price anyway! Automatically searches your hard disk and updates itself when you add pictures. Basic editing, as well as slide show creation, web albums and the like are also catered for.
Free Search Engine Optimization: Helps you create Meta Tags and key words for you website. Something which is essential to have correct if
you want people to find your site when using a search engine. You can also submit your site to various search engines painlessly by using their services.
Discussion and Photographic sites

www.scottiet.com Some excellent images from ex pat New Zealander Scott Taylor who now calls London home.
Daily digital photo A site with a weekly photo competition ….. some very impressive pictures
A very short movie filmed entirely using a Canon 20 D digital STILL camera.
A short slide show promo for George Lange photography … a range of very clever and entertaining still photos made into videos and put to music…. see what you can do with a bit of imagination, skill and oodles of time!
