A Walk at Ashley Estuary

A Walk at Ashley Estuary

Spent a few hours at the Rangiora show grounds photographing a couple of rugby games: North Canterbury v Ellesmere in the Southbridge Shield match and Canterbury playing Manawatu in an NPC game. Seeing that I was out that way, and with the promise of lovely afternoon light, I decided to take the long way home via the Ashley River to see what birds were hanging out there. There were loads of Spoonbills, Banded Dotterels, Yellowhammers and the odd White Faced heron, black backed gulls and loads of Pied Stilts. Here are a few of the photos I took of some of the residence.
