Finally, after waiting for a weather window without howling North westerlies for the whole of October, Nig made the call to head down to Mt Cook for a weekend at Mueller Hut, situated at around 1830 metres on the Sealy range. The good news was that we didn’t need a helicopter to get to the hut (thus saving lots of dollars: i.e. more dollars for new gadgets), but meaning we had to carry everything to the hut, which is roughly 1100 metres above the White Horse car park near Mt Cook village.
The following pictures give you an idea of the terrain and the amazing views, dominated my Mt’s Sefton and Mt Cook.
