Here’s a few pictures from a recent back country ski touring trip I did with some friends on the Pisa Range, situated near Lake Wanaka.
We drove to the Snow Farm, situated at 1510 or so metres. From the carpark it was about 13 kms over Mt Pisa to the Robrosa hut where we stayed for two nights, before returning along much the same route.

We stayed in the Robrosa Hut, owned and operated by Aspiring guides. We just paid a nightly rate of $180, and went without a guide. As you can see on their site, guided trips are also available.
Great starting place to get some touring skills together before hitting bigger, more rugged mountains.
