So Greg and I sent a memo to the Hart Creek Marsh Crakes that we were coming out for a visit, and that maybe they could put the coffee on for us. Clearly they are either very rude hosts, got the days wrong, or just didn’t get the memo because they didn’t front. Maybe the Bittern we heard booming nearby was relaying a message from the Crakes saying sod off? Who knows, but anyway Hart Creek was a bust (except for the fantails and Grey Warblers). So we headed off to Coopers Lagoon where we saw a pair of Banded Dotterels with a chick and a Pied Stilt and Pied Oyster Catcher.
