In the stream

In the stream

In the second world war my mother was a WREN – which stood for “The Women’s Royal New Zealand Naval Service” and worked out of Lyttelton as a signaller. Part of her job was to signal for the ships to come into the harbour from the “stream” hence the title for this post. Whenever she saw boats  anchored in Pegasus Bay she would say they were “in the Stream”.

I thought the clouds and light gave this scene a bit of “drama”. Taken 11-4-23 off Sumner Beach around 2pm.
