Sometimes there is a silver lining, or in this case, a setting moon, to having to get up at 5am to visit the loo. I looked out my window and saw the moon low in the western sky. It dawned (pardon the pun) on me that it might well set over Christchurch’s CBD. So off I went the 200 m’s or so to the top of our street to watch and photograph it set behind the mountains. Not quite directly over the few remaining tall buildings, but still a pretty satisfying result.
