I’d heard on the grapevine that there was a White Heron (Kotuku or Eastern Great Egret) hanging around in the Avon River, upstream of the Bridge Street Bridge. I decided after I had finished work yesterday to go exploring. I found the said Kotuku just upstream from Naughty Boys Island on the Avon. I spent a bit of time watching and photographing it.
I also found a Magpie worm harvesting nearby.
