New to the World

New to the World

Spent quite a bit of time crawling (very undignified) on my stomach to get close to these guys. Hot days make it very difficult to get sharp pictures of birds from a distance because of the heat haze, so you have to get really close to get vaguely sharp pictures, hence the undignified stomach crawl. (Heat haze can cause a lot of people to think their lenses are faulty, but soft pictures are often caused by heat haze. Even shooting across the inside of a car to through an open window can cause similar problems)

Here’s some of the shots.
